The Dragons (6-2, 1-1 G-MAC) led from start to finish en route to their first G-MAC win of the season, 75-61, over Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon.
Tiffin controlled the boards well, out-rebounding the Panthers 40-29 in total for the game. TU also dominated down low, with 46 of its points coming in the paint compared to the 26 of ODU.
The Dragons got off to a quick start and led 23-12 halfway through the first half. They went on to extend their lead to as many as 20 points, but a successful three by the Panthers just before half made it 40-23 at the break.
With the game never in doubt, TU held on for a solid 14-point victory.
Wesley Jordan was a perfect six-of-six from the field and missed just one of his seven free throw attempts for a total of 18 points, adding five rebounds and two assists.
Carius Key tallied his first double-double of the season with 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds while
Morgan Taylor posted 16 points, two assists and two blocks.
Joshua Rivers picked up nine points and seven rebounds with
Ian Lopez,
Rhaven Brown, and
KJ Pruitt all contributing five points each as well.
The Dragons will now pack up and head to Florida for their final two non-conference games at the Tampa Classic. Tiffin will first face Tampa on Saturday, December 16th followed by a matchup against Eckerd the following day.
