The Tiffin University men's track & field team hosted its first indoor home meet in the Heminger Center and tallied eight first place finishes in the process.
Earning two of those top finishes was
Josiah Gadson with a victory in the long jump with a mark of 7.35 meters, over half a meter farther than second-place
Elijah Miller with 6.81m. Gadson also won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.01 seconds, just ahead of Siena Heights' Noah Cunningham.
Dylan Randall took first in the 60-meter dash in 6.76 seconds while
Kyron Rogers placed third in 6.95, improving his time from the YSU Icebreaker by two tenths of a second.
In the 300 meter,
Michael McNeil earned first place with a time of 36.22 seconds. He was followed closely by Jarvis Barber Jr. in second with a time of 36.64 seconds. The 500 meter was won by
Lucas Lynch (1:10.81) with
Octavious Joe finishing right behind in 1:11.31.
In the field,
Garrett Hoepf and
Pieter Wise both tied for first in the high jump with a mark of 1.93m. Masakala Amuri took top marks in the triple jump at 13.70m while
Vincent Volpe blew away the competition in the weight throw with a mark of 18.79m, surpassing his previous NCAA Provisional of 18.36m set at the Findlay Open.
Cade Carter finished in second place for the pole vault with a mark of 4.46m as well.
Some of Tiffin's distance runners traveled over to Allendale, Michigan for the GVSU Holiday Open. Top results included
Nathaniel Ondracek (8:21.29) and Talel Khalfi (8:27.41) placing second and fourth in the 3000 meter run, both of which are the current top two fastest times in the G-MAC.
The Dragons will now look ahead to the Jud Logan Memorial hosted by Kent State on January 13th.
