Tiffin Struggles in Second Half of 4-1 Loss to Northwood

The Dragons (3-8-5, 3-7-3 G-MAC) allowed three second-half goals to conference-leading Northwood, in what finished as a 4-1 defeat at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.

The Timberwolves showed why they are first in the G-MAC, starting the match off aggressively with numerous shots through the first 15 minutes. Malea Nelson made multiple saves, but Northwood finally found the opening goal in the 27th minute.

Roughly three minutes later, Tiffin drew a foul inside the box and earned a penalty kick which was swiftly scored by Suzy Hayes to level the match. The goal marked her fourth of the season and third in just the last two matches.

The second half was all Timberwolves as they regained the lead less than two minutes after the restart and doubled the lead after another four minutes later. The match was put beyond a shadow of a doubt in the 67th minute, making it 4-1.

Nelson racked up 10 total saves between the sticks, marking a career high.

The Dragons will play their final match of the season against rivals, Findlay, on Tuesday, October 31st at 12 p.m.
