Dragons Edge Eagles in Tight Match

LEXINGTON, Ohio - Tiffin men's tennis battled back and forth with Ashland University on Saturday, pulling out a 4-3 win over the Eagles.

The Dragons were able to eke out the doubles win with a pair of victories, as Nikita Parfenov and Toby Cutting took the No. 1 match 6-1 and Hugo Chatras and Sorin Navrotchi came through with a 6-4 victory at No. 3.

Cutting and Chatras also won in singles to go 2-0 on the afternoon, with Cutting taking the No. 4 match 6-4, 6-2 and Chatras winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6. 

With the score tied at three apiece after Ashland won the singles 1, 2, and 3, Tom Arias ended up taking the final and deciding match 6-2, 6-3 to give the Dragons the win.

Tiffin improves to 7-6 on the year, and will hit the courts again tomorrow at Wayne State.
