Tiffin University (11-13) could not get out of the first round with a win, falling to Northwood 5-1 on day one of the GLIAC Men's Tennis Championships.

Tiffin trailed 2-1 after doubles play, getting their lone win of the day from Nikita Parfenov/Sorin Navrotchi in an 8-4 victory. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez fell 8-4 at first doubles, while Tom Arias/Toby Cutting dropped their match 8-1.

TU needed to bounce back in singles play but could not pull it off. Ludena fell 6-0, 6-3, while Arias fell 6-1, 6-2 and Navrotchi dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision.

TU will now take on Grand Valley State at 3:45 pm on April 21.
