Dragons open GLIAC play with 7-2 win

Tiffin University (8-7, 1-0 GLIAC) opened conference play on the road at Purdue Northwest and cruised to a 7-2 victory.

Things got off on the right foot in doubles play, where the Dragons swept the matches. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez battled and prevailed 8-6 in the closest match, while Sorin Navrotchi/Nikita Parfenov also won 8-4. Toby Cutting/Tom Arias won via shutout 8-0.

Needing just two points for victory, the Dragons produced four wins in six singles matches. Santiago de la Rosa Mora battled back to post a 2-6, 6-2, 10-4 win in the toughest win of the day. TU's other wins came in straight sets. Cutting won 6-0, 6-0, Arias won 6-2, 6-1, and Navrotchi posted a 6-3, 6-1 win.

Ludena fell in a hard fought three setter 5-7, 6-3, 10-1, while Parfenov also lost 6-2, 6-2.
