The Tiffin University men's basketball team fought hard on Saturday, but a Findlay Oilers' 24-11 run over the final 10 minutes of play, downed the Dragons 94-75.

The Dragons put the first points on the board, with Jonathan Sutherlin starting the party with an alley-oop jam. The teams traded buckets with both sides shooting over 58% from the field. An 11-4 run late in the 1st half increased Findlay's lead to 11 at 40-29. The Dragons tried to chip away in the final minutes of the half, but their deficit shrank only to eight points. The Oilers, hitting eight three point buckets in the half, held a 45-37 lead at the halftime horn.

The nine points of Tony Kynard led the Dragons at the break, with Alex Brown adding seven, and Jonathan Sutherlin pitching in with six points. The Dragons held a shooting advantage from the field, hitting at a 61.5% clip. Findlay shot 58.6%, but they made their hay from deep connecting on 8 of 12 three point shots.

The Dragon offense continued to hit on all cylinders, cutting their eight point halftime deficit to three at the 15:00 mark. Tiffin closed the gap to three points five different times, but never got over the hump. The Oilers, holding a 71-66 lead with 8:19 remaining, ended the game on a 23-9 streak to end the Dragons' hopes of a comeback.

Tiffin shot 55.6% from the field, 42.9% from three, and 75% from the free throw line. The Oilers made 56.9% of their shots, with 12 of their 33 makes coming from beyond the arc (36%). For the second game in a row, the Dragons were beaten in the low post, losing the rebound battle 32-22.

Alex Brown and Tony Kynard led their squad with 18 points each. Juwan Johnson added 12 points on 5-12 shooting.

The loss drops the Dragons to 10-14 overall and 6-11 in GLIAC play.
