The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell on their home floor Thursday night, falling to the Wayne State Warriors 69-61.

The Warriors and Dragons had a nice offensive pace early in the 1st half, but that soon dissipated. The Dragons mustered only 25 points in the 1st half, with the Warriors totaling 31. Tiffin shot 37% from the floor, 2-5 from three, and 3-6 from the free throw line. The Warriors hit three more shots than the Dragons, shooting 48% from the field.

At the break, the Dragons were led by the seven points of Jonathan Sutherlin. Terrell Mabins added five points, and Alex Brown collected four points. For Wayne State, Clark Bishop led the way with eight points and Michael Lewis added seven.

The Warriors' lead swelled to 12 points in the 2nd half, but the Dragons clawed their way back. Tiffin used a four minute, 10-2 run to trail 46-42. The four point deficit was the closest the Dragons came to getting back into the game, as Wayne State navigated their way to the locker room with a 69-61 victory in hand.

Tiffin was led in scoring by Tony Kynard with 16 points. Jonathan Sutherlin and Alex Brown each tossed 10 points, and Chrisean Marsden scored 9 points before fouling out. The Dragons struggled from the free throw line, missing eight freebies, shooting 60% from the stripe.

The loss drops Tiffin to 10-13 overall and 6-10 in GLIAC play.
