The Tiffin University men's basketball team dropped their season finale on Thursday night, falling 95-85. The Panthers' bombardment from beyond the three point line allowed ODU to race ahead early in the 1st half and stay ahead in the 2nd half.
Ohio Dominican raced out of the gate, leading 26-11 at the halfway point in the 1st half. The Panthers' lead continued to swell, reaching 18 points at the 4:31 mark. Tiffin put together a short rally, cutting the Dragon deficit to 13 at the half.
The Panthers jumped back in the driver's seat at the beginning of the 2nd half, bumping their lead back to 18 points. ODU continued to hit from long range with their lead peaking at the 6:16 mark, at 78-55. The Dragons continued to fight, trimming the lead to 11 with 66 seconds remaining. Ultimately, it was too little too late, as the Dragons couldn't get the deficit under double digits, falling 95-85.
The Dragons were led by the hot hand of Alex Brown, pouring in a career high 31 points on 11 of 18 shooting from the field. Brown also did the job on the boards, dragging down 11 rebounds. Tony Kynard chipped in with 15 points, Chrisean Marsden added 12 points, and senior Jonathan Sutherlin scored 10 points.
The loss drops the Dragons to 11-18 overall and 7-15 in GLIAC play.
