Panthers run past Dragons 69-51

The Tiffin University women's basketball team traveled to Columbus on Monday evening, falling 69-51 to the Ohio Dominican Panthers.

The Dragons were able to build a lead in the 1st quarter, holding a 16-10 advantage before ODU closed the gap. The Dragons ended the quarter with a 16-14 lead, but the 2nd quarter was their undoing. The Dragons, clinging to a 22-21 lead, surrendered an 11-0 run to end the half. The Panthers headed to the locker room with a 32-22 lead over the Dragons.

Bre Nauman led Tiffin in the scoring column, pouring in 12 points. Kaylee Patton added 8 points and Kiley May chipped in with 6.

The 3rd period didn't get any better for the Dragons, surrendering 22 points to the Panthers while scoring only 13. The Dragons did outscore the Panthers in the 4th and final quarter, but it was too little, too late, as TU fell 69-51. The Dragons were beaten in the paint, being outscored 26-10 and out rebounded 41-30.

Tiffin was led in scoring by Bre Nauman with 21 points. Kaylee Patton was the only other Dragon in double figures, adding 12 points to the cause.

The loss drops TU to 5-15 overall and 3-12 in GLIAC play.
