The Tiffin University women's basketball team held the hot hand from three point range, making 11 long range jumpers to defeat Malone University 72-64.

In the 1st quarter, the Dragons charged ahead, using the offensive prowess of Bre Nauman and Ali Schirmer, each scoring six points. Nauman also snagged four boards, as TU led 19-7 after a quarter of play.

Bre Nauman continued to dominate in the 2nd quarter, scoring four more points and running down six more rebounds to collect a 1st half double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. The Dragons added 16 more points to their total, and held Malone to only 12.

At the half, the Dragons enjoyed a 35-19 lead, and it was Nauman leading the way with 10 points. Ali Schirmer chipped in with 9 points, and Allie Miller added 8 points. As a unit, the Dragons held a commanding lead in the rebound category, 25-12.

The Pioneers didn't give up, scoring the first four points of the 3rd quarter via two Dragon turnovers. The Tiffin lead was trimmed to as little to nine points in the quarter, but the hot shooting of Ali Schirmer and Allie Miller held the Tiffin lead at 56-45. Schirmer scored eight points in the quarter and Miller netted seven.

The Malone comeback continued in the 4th quarter, as Tiffin committed six 4th quarter turnovers. The Pioneers came within four points, but the TU youngsters continued their fine play as the Dragons took care of the Pioneers 72-64.

The Dragons were led in scoring by Allie Miller with 21 points. Miller also added 8 rebounds and four assists. Ali Schirmer scored 20 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the floor, including 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. Bre Nauman added to her 1st half double-double, finishing with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The win moves the Dragons to 5-11 overall and 3-8 in GLIAC play.
