The Tiffin University women's basketball team fell on Thursday night by the final count of 72-69 to the Wayne State Warriors.

The Warriors jumped the Dragons out of the gate, leading 16-3, but Tiffin responded and trailed 19-10 after the 1st quarter. In that quarter, the Dragons turned the ball over 10 times, leading to 10 Warrior points. Tiffin continued to fight in the 2nd quarter, but were still outscored 13-11. At the break, Tiffin trailed 32-21, and were led in scoring by Bre Nauman with nine points. Tiffin added six more turnovers to their total to bring the 1st half total to 16, but TU did force 11 Wayne St. turnovers, leading to seven Dragon points.

The 3rd quarter saw the highest point totals from both sides, with the Dragons racking up 24 thanks to the hot shooting of Allie Miller and Bre Nauman. The Dragons held the Warriors to 21 third quarter points, and after three quarters trailed 53-45. The 4th and final quarter is when things got really interesting. The Dragons continued their trek back from a 13 point deficit, and Wayne St. kept turning the ball over to TU.

With 1:22 left in the game, the Dragons pulled to within a bucket at 69-67. The Dragons, with the basketball, missed a three point shot, and the Warriors flagged down the rebound and moved up the floor. With the shot clock running down, the Dragons committed a foul. With 23 seconds left in the quarter, the shot clock off, and the Warriors having possession, Wayne State managed to dribble 18 seconds off the clock as the Dragons didn't foul. A technical foul on the Dragon bench led to a couple free throws for the Warriors, and WSU put the game away.

The Dragons were led by Allie Miller with a career high 23 points on 4-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Bre Nauman added 19 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out.

The loss drops TU to 3-11 overall and 1-8 in GLIAC play.
