After falling behind 2-0, things looked bleak for Tiffin University's volleyball team against Wayne State. But the Dragons rallied to win the final three sets, beating the Warriors 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13 in the Gillmor Center.
Trailing 20-17 late in the third set, the Dragons dug deep and won 8 of the next 9 points, including the deciding set point when the Wayne State bench was flagged with a red card.
TU kept up the pressure in set four, hitting .259 as a team while benefiting from 11 hitting errors by the Warriors to take the fourth set 25-18. In the final set, TU held a slim 11-10 lead before rattling off three straight points. Wayne State tried to rally, winning the next three points, but the Dragons finally put the match away on their fourth match point on a kill by Alexandria Miglin.
Overall TU hit .200 as a team while the Warriors hit just .130. Olivia Cobb and Amanda Curry had 14 kills each, with Curry hitting .321. Miglin also had 13 kills and hit .235, while Kasey Adelsperger had 8 kills and 6 blocks. Emily Weithman had 47 assists and Taylor Lattimore led with 29 digs.
