The Tiffin University volleyball team made the short drive from Walsh to Malone today and made it a clean sweep in Canton, beating the Pioneers 3-1. Tiffin fell behind early, but fought back to claim victory in four sets.
Malone came out and caught the Dragons off balance, taking set one, 25-16. Tiffin rebounded in set two, to tie the match at 1-1. Tiffin punched the gas pedal in the third set, winning 25-16, and then dropped the hammer on Malone in the fourth and final set, 25-17.
The Dragon attack had three main contributors. Amanda Curry led Tiffin with 13 kills, Kasey Adelsperger added 12 kills, and Olivia Cobb chipped in with 10. Emily Weithman continued her excellent season, adding 41 assists to her season stat line.
Defensively, Taylor Lattimore led the charge with 16 digs, and Cobb added eight digs and two blocks. Adelsperger led Tiffin at the net with four blocks.
Tiffin is now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC. The Dragons' next game will be this coming week, September 22, at home against the Central State Marauders at 7:00 p.m..
