Tiffin University (7-15, 3-12 GLIAC) led at the half and kept things close for most of the second half but could not overtake Wayne State on the road, falling 64-58.
Tiffin led 28-24 at halftime and continued to hold a slim lead early in the second half at 33-32 when the Warriors went on a 13-4 run that put them up 45-37 with 9:44 to play.
TU pulled to within 45-41 with 8:19 to go but the Warriors went on an 8-1 run that put them ahead 11 points. TU failed to get much closer, as the Warriors hit 9 of 11 free throws in the final 3:00 to put the game away.
Wayne State held a 20-12 edge at the free throw line and only turned the ball over 4 times in the game.
Alex Brown led the Dragons with 12 points and 6 rebounds, while Ashton Khan also had 12 points with 6 assists. Chrisean Marsden returned from injury to score 10 points with 5 rebounds, while Zack Riddle had 7 points. Korab Imami also grabbed 8 rebounds.
