The Tiffin University women's basketball team picked up a huge road win Thursday evening over Malone University 77-71. The Dragons dominated points in the paint 26-14.

The first half started slow, with both teams struggling to get going offensively, but the Dragons found their spark in Jordan Fraley. Jordan finished the half with 13 points on 5 of 7 shooting from the floor. Malone leaned heavily on their sophomore point guard Rachel Goddard for 18 of Malone's 36 first half points. The Dragons only committed six turnovers in the half and capitalized on the Pioneer mistakes, leading in points off turnovers 10-4.

The Dragons upped their lead to eight early in the half, but Malone quickly cut their deficit to only four points. With the lead at four, the Dragons pushed the envelope and bolted ahead with a 15-6 run to lead 59-46. Malone would not go away though, using a small run to trail by 6, but strong post play, clutch free throws, and holding Rachel Goddard to only four points in the second half pushed the Dragons to victory.

The Dragons were led in scoring by Jordan Fraley with 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the floor. Bre Nauman was as advertised, 13 points and 11 rebounds, Kaylee Patton added 12 points, and Deidre McKay pitched in 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Rachel Goddard led the Pioneers with 22 points.

The win improves the Dragons record to 7-16 overall and 6-11 in GLIAC play. The Dragons will hit the hardwood Saturday at 1 pm as they play host to the Walsh Cavaliers.
