Dragons downed by Chargers 81-68

The Tiffin University women's basketball team was beaten by the Hillsdale Chargers on Thursday evening by the final count of 81-68. The Dragons kept the game close, but were plagued by foul trouble, as both teams accounted for 50 total fouls.

Hillsdale held a slight 19-17 advantage after one quarter of play. The second quarter became the Dragons worst nightmare, as Hillsdale put 23 points on the board, and held the Dragons to 14.

At the half, the Dragons trailed 42-31. As a team, TU shot 38% from the floor in the half, but committed 14 fouls and nine turnovers. The Chargers managed to shoot 47% from the floor, and that was the only major statistical discrepancy between the two teams besides the score.

The third quarter saw the Dragons surrender 22 points to the Chargers, while scoring only 17. Tiffin entered the 4th quarter trailing 64-48. The Dragons were able to cut into Hillsdale's lead, but it wasn't enough as Hillsdale posted an 81-68 victory.

For the Dragons, Jordan Fraley led the way offensively, scoring 21 points while grabbing 7 rebounds. Alison Schirmer, Kaylee Patton, and Allie Miller each finished with 11 points. As a team, the Dragons shot 41% from the field, but committed 18 turnovers and 31 personal fouls.

The loss drops TU to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in GLIAC play.
