The Tiffin University women's basketball team held a six point advantage at halftime against Ferris State, but couldn't hold on, falling 55-46.
In the 1st quarter, the Dragons outscored the Bulldogs 18-15, and built upon that lead with a 14 point 2nd quarter to total 32 points. Ferris struggled to score points, managing only 11 in the 2nd quarter.
At the half, the Dragons were shooting 40% from the field, while Ferris was hitting at a 57% clip. The main difference in the 1st half was the Dragons' three point shooting, going 6 of 12, while holding Ferris to 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. Ali Schirmer led the charge offensively, scoring 13 points in the half on 5 for 8 shooting, including three made shots from deep.
The 3rd quarter was the beginning of the end for TU, as the Bulldogs added 16 points to their total, while the Dragons managed only six points. The 4th quarter wasn't much better, as Tiffin scored only eight points. The Dragons had their worst offensive half of the game, shooting at a 17% clip in the 2nd half.
Offensively, Ali Schirmer, the only Dragon in double figures, finished with a game high 16 points. Bre Nauman added 9 points, while Jordan Fraley pitched in 7 points before fouling out.
The loss drops TU to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in the GLIAC.
