The Tiffin University women's basketball team picked up their second win of the season, defeating the unbeaten Ursuline College Arrows, 70-66.

Both teams struggled out of the gate, but the scoring slowly picked up in the 1st quarter, with the Dragons taking a 19-16 lead into the 2nd quarter. In the 2nd, the Dragons had their worst offensive quarter of the game, only scoring 13 points. The Arrows, after scoring 16 in the 1st quarter, added 19 in the 2nd, to lead 35-32 at the half.

At halftime, the Dragons were led in scoring by Kaylee Patton and Allie Miller with 7 points each. As a team, the Dragons shot 48.3% from the field, while holding Ursuline to 35.3%. The slight edge held by the Arrows was due in part to their three point shooting, making three more than the Dragons.

In the 3rd quarter, the Dragons used a 14-6 run to not only regain the lead, but ultimately hold a five point advantage. The Dragons outscored the Arrows 21-15 in the quarter, taking a 53-50 lead to the 4th.

In that quarter, the Dragons started quick, using a 7-0 run to go up by 10 points. The Arrows, trailing by 11 points with 6:43 left in the game, began their comeback, outscoring the Dragons 13-2 over a six minute stretch to tie the score at 66. The score was pushed in the favor of the Dragons by senior Jordan Fraley. With eight seconds remaining in regulation, Fraley hit a layup to give Tiffin a 68-66 lead, and Alison Schirmer pounded the final nails into the win with two free throws to seal a 70-66 home victory.

The Dragons were led by Bre Nauman recording a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Alison Schirmer scored 15 points on 6 of 11 shooting, Jordan Fraley chipped in with 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Kaylee Patton added 11 points for the Dragons. The Dragons were able to overcome 21 turnovers with a strong defensive performance, holding Ursuline to 36.7% shooting from field.

The win moves the Dragons 2-2 overall. Tiffin will be back in action next Thursday, as they travel to Hillsdale for their GLIAC opener.
