Tiffin University traveled to Aurora, Illinois for the Midwest Region Classic featuring GLIAC, GLVC, and G-MAC schools. TU took on Truman State and Wisconsin-Parkside, with hitting woes in both matches costing them in two losses. TU fell to Truman State 18-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-21, and then fell to UWP 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.
Against TSU, the Dragons opened in fine fashion, hitting .458 in winning the first set. But TU couldn't maintain that momentum, committing 24 total attack errors in losing. Overall they were outhit .333 to .206.
Alexandria Miglin hit well, leading the way with 13 kills and hitting .385, while Kasey Adelsperger also did well with 8 kills and a .412 percentage. Amanda Curry had 9 kills with a .208 percentage while Victoria Turnbough added 7 kills. Olivia Cobb had 7 kills but 8 errors.
Emily Weithman dished out 42 assists while Taylor Lattimore had 15 digs.
Against UWP, the Dragons never got on track, hitting just .106 overall. Parkside hit at a .358 clip.
Cobb led TU with 8 kills while hitting .226 but Miglin and Curry combined for 12 kills with 11 errors. Adelsperger also had 5 kills. Weithman had 28 more assists and Lattimore added 16 digs.
