Tiffin University (6-12, 2-9 GLIAC) played without three starters against Malone and looked solid for the first 20 minutes, but it was the final 20 minutes that proved too much for the Dragons to handle, as Malone controlled the second half and won 68-62.
TU led 40-31 at halftime, shooting 51 percent in the half and enjoying a 16 point outburst by Alex Brown. TU, however, could not keep the momentum going in the second half. After a Mike Brown jumper at the 11:04 mark, TU led 48-41. Little did they know it would be the last field goal they would hit for almost 9 minutes.
Malone went on a huge 18-1 run over that span, pushing their lead to 10 points. The Dragons were unable to make up the difference.
TU shot just 27 percent in the second half. Malone also controlled the rebounds 41-29. Brown finished with 19 points and 6 rebounds, while Zack Riddle also had 17 points. Ashton Khan also had 13 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.
