Tiffin University (1-1) split in its opening day doubleheader at the University of Alaska Nanook Classic, falling to St. Edward's 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 before bouncing back to beat Alaska 26-24, 22-25, 25-13, 25-17.
In the win over Alaska, the Dragons hit .303 as a team, with Lu Phillips pounding out 15 kills along with 11 digs. Jillian Campbell also had a strong match, hitting .647 en route to 12 kills with 4 blocks.
Ally Kohlhase added 9 kills and 2 blocks, while Olivia Cobb had 7 kills and Chelsea Stockmeyer had 6 kills. Tiffany Buchinger had 5 kills with 38 assists, and Taylor Lattimore led with 15 digs.
Against St. Edward's, TU could not keep up with a .420 hitting percentage by their opponent. Phillips led with 14 kills and was joined by Kohlhase's 8 kills and Cobb's 7 kills. Stockmeyer added 5 more kills while Buchinger had 39 assists and Lattimore had 23 digs.
