Tiffin University traveled north to Wayne State University Saturday for their second straight road match. Wayne State bettered the Dragons today with a 3-2 victory. The Dragons have now lost two matches in a row after a 4 match winning streak.
Tiffin started fast winning game one, 25-18. Wayne State rebounded in a tight game two and three with identical scores of 25-21. Game two featured 11 tie scores and 4 lead changes. The Dragons evened the match, winning game four 26-24. Game four echoed the battle of game two with 10 tie scores and 5 lead changes. Tiffin battled in game five but in the end fell to the Warriors, 15-11.
Leading the Dragon charge was Lu Phillips with 19 kills and 5 aces. Ally Kohlhase and Jillian Campbell added 11 kills each. Tiffany Buchinger had another huge game with 50 assists. Taylor Lattimore paced the Dragons with 18 digs followed by Lu Phillips with 15 and Sarah Haman with 14.
Tiffin falls to 4-3, 2-2 (GLIAC) and Wayne State improves to 3-5, 1-3 (GLIAC). The Dragons continue the current three game road trip with a trip to Ohio Dominican University Tuesday, September 23 at 7 pm.
