Tiffin University (4-7) bounced back in an impressive way on day two of the Quincy University Holiday Tournament, setting a school record with only 2 turnovers in a solid 79-63 win over Hillsdale College.
The Dragons simply gave the Chargers very little openings to take advantage of, outshooting them 51 percent to 41 percent, outscoring them at the free throw line 15-7, and outrebounding them 33-29. While the Chargers only turned the ball over 6 times, TU was even stingier in committing only two miscues.
Tiffin put together a 19-7 run midway through the first half to build a 12 point lead at the 7:13 mark. They took a 40-32 advantage into the halftime lockerroom. TU quickly ran off a 9-2 run early in the second half to push their lead to 15 points and never looked back, maintaining a double digit lead throughout the half.
Khaleal McCormick was an All-Tourney selection, finishing with 24 points and 5 rebounds, while Andy Bachman also played well with 24 points. Ashton Khan had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Chrisean Marsden had 11 points and 6 rebounds.
