A poor first half put Tiffin University in a big halftime hole down 29 points, as Mercyhurst got the win over TU 91-79 on the road.
The Dragons ran into a buzz saw Tuesday night as Mercyhurst shot 61.1% from the field and 55.6% from three. Adrienne Kloecker was the go to Laker in the 1st half as she shot 9-13 from the field and 4-7 from downtown, accounting for 22 of Mercyhurst's 61 points. Kloecker would go on to finish with 31 points for the Lakers. The Lakers would have four other players in double figures. Natalie Piaggesi had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Alex Artise finished with 10 points, Angela Heintz and Katie Fischer both finished with 12 points.
The Dragons came out in half number two and put on a much better performance, outscoring the Lakers 48-31. The Dragons were led by Bre Nauman with 25 points. Anya Misko had 11 points and 13 rebounds, Deidre McKay chipped in 10 points and 7 boards. One of the key contributors that may not show up in the box score is Macy Byrd, Byrd was put into the game and put forth great effort and hustle.
The Dragons fall to 0-3 overall and will be back in action on Sunday against the Ferris State Bulldogs in Big Rapids, Michigan.
