The Tiffin University Dragons welcomed in the Ohio Dominican Panthers on Tuesday evening and came out on top in four sets. The Panthers won set one 25-22, and that would be their only set win of the night. The Panthers were led in the kills department by Jackie Oestreich with 15. Lauren Kraemer chipped in 11 kills for ODU. Kelsey Snyder recorded 25 assists for Ohio Dominican. Lauren Rindler was able to contribute 30 digs for her squad in a losing effort. The loss drops ODU to 10-13 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
The Dragons battled hard in set one, but could not hold on to a slim lead. The rest of the contest saw an even matched game, but the Dragons were able to find a way to pull out set two 25-22, set three 25-22, and the deciding set four 25-17. The Dragons were led in kills by Olivia Cobb with 18. Lu Phillips played outstanding in her last home game, contributing 16 kills and 11 digs. Alexandria Miglin added 12 kills for the Dragons as well. Tiffany Buchinger had 62 assists on the evening and six digs. Taylor Lattimore was everywhere on the floor for the Dragons as she recorded 52 diigs.
The win moves the Dragons overall record to 11-12 and 5-9 in conference play. The Dragons will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 31 as they travel to Ashland for a 7 pm start time. The remaining three games following the Ashland showdown will be against Lake Erie, Malone, and Walsh.
