Tiffin University (5-11, 2-10 GLIAC) battled throughout the game but could not hold a late lead and came up short at Lake Erie 63-59.
Tied 8-8 early, Lake Erie went on a 22-14 run to take an 8 point lead late in the first half. The Storm led 33-28 at the half.
Leading 52-43 with 8:16 to play, Tiffin exploded on a 12-2 run that catapulted them into the lead 55-54 with 4:23 left. The Storm bounced back over the next 90 seconds on a 6-0 run to go back up 5 points.
Trailing 60-59 with 19 seconds left, Lake Erie went on to make three of its four free throws to ice the game.
The Storm enjoyed edges in the paint (26-14) and also held a 17-8 lead in points off turnovers. Lake Erie also had a 15-9 edge in second chance points.
Deidre McKay led the Dragons with 14 points, but Katie Miller was the only other TU player in double figures with 10. Bre Nauman had 9 points with 10 rebounds, while Kaylee Patton had 7 points and 5 rebounds.
