FLORENCE, Ky. - It was a pitching duel with only nine hits surrendered as the Tiffin University baseball team (0-5) lost 2-0 to Saint Joseph's (1-2), Saturday afternoon at Freedom Field
In the fourth inning, senior Ryan Williams doubled down the right field line. Senior Ryan Locke hit a fielder's choice that got Williams out. Senior Brock Mitchell singled to put two on with one out.
Saint Joseph's turned a double play to get out of the inning. The Pumas scored in the sixth inning, then got an insurance run in the eighth.
For Tiffin, Williams was 2-for-4. Senior Eric Klepper (0-2) gave up one hit, one run which was unearned, walked three and struck out seven in six innings.
For Saint Joseph's, Eric Mason had two hits. Jordan Peterson (1-0) went the distance throwing a four-hitter with three strikeouts.
Tiffin remains on the road, Sunday, March 3, playing Saint Joseph's in a doubleheader. The games are scheduled to start at noon.
