A close, exciting game at the half turned into a disappointing finish for Tiffin University (8-15, 5-12 GLIAC), as they were outscored 47-27 over the second half and eventually fell 81-60 to the University of Findlay (15-6, 12-5).
Joe Graessle carried the Dragons' offense during the first half, totaling 16 of his 20 points during that stretch, including a last second shot to close the half and place TU behind the Oilers just 34-33 at intermission.
But it was downhill from there, as the Dragons shot just 33 percent in the second half while Findlay turned it up at a 53 percent shooting clip. Findlay exploded on a 24-9 run to open the second half and effectively put the game away.
Graessle managed just 4 second half points, while only Mike Boan joined him in double figures with 11 points. Cody Dennison finished with 7 points and 4 assists. Graessle also managed 4 assists with 4 steals. Eric Roby and Khaleal McCormick were the leading rebounders with 5 apiece.
