Tiffin University improved to 4-1 overall with a solid 9-0 win over Alma College. They now prepare for their GLIAC opener against Grand Valley State Thursday at 9:30 pm.
In doubles play, Maximillien Waeters/Robbie Ball and Leonid Vladimirov/Brian Coffman each posted 8-3 wins, while Luiz Carvalho/Kyle Johnson won by an 8-5 margin.
In singles, Ball had the toughest match, taking three sets to win 5-7, 6-1, 10-5. The other wins were all straight set victories. Johnson won 6-0, 6-0 in a shutout, while Waeters and Coffman both won by 6-0, 6-1 scores. Carvalho won 6-0, 6-3, and Nicholas Almeida won 6-0, 7-5.
