Tiffin head coach Pam Oswald announced today the promotion of Kylene Spiegel to Associate Head Coach. The move is effective immediately.

"This promotion is an affirmation of Kylene's leadership and duties within our program," said Oswald. "It's an appropriate reward that recognizes what she does for Tiffin women's basketball."

Spiegel, who begins her fifth year on the Tiffin staff, has previously served as assistant coach. She is Tiffin's recruiting coordinator and coaches the perimeter players, as well as coordinates community service events and academic advising of players.

In her time on staff at Tiffin, Spiegel has contributed to the success of the program with Tiffin's first GLIAC tournament appearance in 2010-11 and GLIAC tournament final four in 2011-12 with the team capturing the most wins in program history with a record of 21-7.

Spiegel mentored one of the top five players in school history in Mandy Jaeb who was a three-time All-GLIAC first team selection and is the second leading scorer in program history with 1,585 points.

No stranger to Tiffin University, Spiegel was the floor general at the point guard position for the Dragons from 2005-09. She holds TU career records for assists with 468 (4.4apg) and the single season record with 143 assists, along with scoring 1,105 points in her career.

"Ky's mark on the program is on the court every year," said Oswald. "From her time as a player to a coach she is totally invested in our program and part of the foundation of what Tiffin women's basketball is all about. She is a valuable asset to our program and very deserving of this."

Spiegel holds a degree in Sports Management and obtained her master's degree in Business Leadership in the spring of 2011 from Tiffin University.
