Tiffin University (2-1) dug a hole for itself early in the second half and battled back numerous times but could not get over the hump, falling for the first time this season 84-83 at Cedarville.
After settling for a 37-37 halftime score, Cedarville put together a 29-16 run over the first 11:00 minutes of the second half to build a 66-53 lead.
Tiffin refused to die, however, responding with an impressive 18-7 run to cut the lead to 73-71 with 4:09 to play. Tiffin kept the lead small but an 8-2 run late by Cedarville put them back on top 81-73 with just 1:23 to play. A last second three pointer by Karli Mast put the final score at 84-83.
Katie Miller had a strong game for TU, totaling 22 points and 7 rebounds, while Karli Mast joined the TU 1000 point club by scoring 15 points in the game along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. She now stands at 1004 points in her career.
Bre Nauman also had a good game, tallying 17 points with 8 rebounds, while Jillian Adams also had 7 points.
