TIFFIN, Ohio - The Tiffin University volleyball team (7-9, 2-9 GLIAC) lost 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-11) to Northern Michigan (16-5, 10-1 GLIAC), Saturday afternoon at the Gillmor Center.
In the opening set, Northern Michigan took an early 12-3 lead and was never headed.
In the second set, senior Danielle McQuade found the back corner to make it 7-4, Wildcats. NMU went on a 7-1 run to put the set out of reach.
In the third set, the two teams battled to a 5-5 tie. Tiffin forced an error and got an ace from junior Chelsea Stockmeyer. That put the Dragons up 7-5.
Northern Michigan took the lead at 10-8. Following a hitting error, senior Bridget Boyle ripped the ball off the block to tie it at 10-10. The Wildcats scored seven straight points to effectively end the match.
For Tiffin, senior Jordan Jenkins had 17 digs, her 36th consecutive double-digit dig performance.
For Northern Michigan, Lina Lopes had 12 kills and Alex Berger had 13 digs.
