FINDLAY, Ohio - Balanced scoring and tenacious defense led the way as the Tiffin University men's basketball team (6-9, 3-7 GLIAC) upset #35 Findlay (10-4, 7-3 GLIAC) 57-55, Saturday afternoon at Croy Gymnasium. The win snapped Findlay's 81-game home conference win streak.

Greg Kahlig hit a pair of free throws to put Findlay up 2-0 at the 19:31 mark. Tiffin came storming back with 12 straight points. A dunk by junior Mike Boan made it 12-2 with 14:22 to go.

Down 16-6 at the 11:44 mark, the Oilers mounted a comeback. Jake Heagen nailed a 3-pointer to close the gap to 18-15 with 9:41 to go. The Dragons scored five straight and maintained a 6-to-8 point lead the rest of the half.

UF charged back from a 32-24 deficit. Brad Piehl hit a triple to tie the game at 34-34 with 12:27 to go. TU roared back with 11 straight points.

Tiffin looked to have the game in hand, up 50-38 with 5:20 to go. Findlay slowly chipped away. Jack Smith rattled in a trey with 24 seconds left to close the gap to two. Senior Cody Dennison hit two free throws to seal the game.

Tiffin out-rebounded Findlay 47-45 and held the Oilers to shooting 22.2% from the floor and 18.8% from behind the arc.

For Tiffin, Dennison had 14 points, junior Joe Graessle had 13 points, five assists and two steals and Boan scored 11. Freshman Jonathan Sutherlin had eight points and 10 rebounds while freshman Eric Roby pulled down 12 boards.

For Findlay, Kahlig and Aaron Robinson had 10 points each.
