Defensive intensity leads to 66-44 win

Coaches love consistency.

Tiffin University (10-3, 5-2 GLIAC) provided their fans with consistent defensive intensity throughout their home tilt with Ohio Dominican, holding the Panthers to 26 percent field goal shooting in each half en route to posting a 66-44 victory.

The game was close at halftime. After TU jumped out to a quick 16-5 lead, ODU bounced back, using strong rebounding to bring them to within 29-21 at the half.

But TU never backed down, coming out of the halftime lockerroom with a fire that led to a 27-13 scoring edge over the next 12 minutes. They improved their shooting percentage from 42 percent in the first half to 48 percent in the second half, including an overall 28-18 advantage in the paint.

TU's defense forced 21 turnovers leading to 22 points, while their bench also got in on the scoring, accounting for 25 points.

Mandy Jaeb battled through first half foul trouble and finished with a team-high 17 points, while Jessica Harris also played hard in totaling 10 points with 11 rebounds. Karli Mast also had 10 points. Deidra Brown added 9 and Melissa Gilliland had 8 points while Amanda Baute also tacked on 6 rebounds.
