For the first 30 minutes of Tiffin University's road game at Lake Erie, the Storm held a solid lead and looked in control.
Then came the final 10 minutes.
The Dragons' defense crushed the Storm over the final 10 minutes, posting a 40-13 run over that stretch, including a 15-0 run over the final 2:42, to post a 73-62 victory in a big GLIAC contest. The Dragons improve to 12-4, 7-3 GLIAC.
The Dragons trailed at the half 28-20 and trailed by a 49-38 score with just 10:00 remaining. But the Dragons rallied over the next 8:00, posting a 25-13 run that was capped when Karli Mast buried a three pointer to give TU a 63-62 lead with 1:54 to play.
Amazingly, the Dragons defense got even better to close the game, shutting out the Storm 15-0 over the final 2:42. The Dragons also buried 7 of 8 free throws in the final 44 seconds to ice the victory, with Mandy Jaeb hitting on 5 of those 6 shots.
A balanced team attack helped the Dragons as well. Five players landed in double figures in scoring, with Jessica Harris totaling 15 points and 13 rebounds. Mast also finished with 15 points.
Jennifer Johnston had 13 points with 7 assists, while Jaeb finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Amanda Baute also came off the bench for 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The Dragons held a commanding 42-28 edge in rebounding and also held a 17-10 advantage in free throws.
