Tiffin University (14-10, 8-9 GLIAC) led by as much as 21 points in the first half, using 50 percent shooting to lead to an eventual 59-46 win over Ohio Dominican (6-18, 4-13) on the road.

The Dragons' 14 victories are the most since 2006-07, when TU finished 14-15. TU continues its push to qualify for the GLIAC tourney for the first time in school history, with two regular season games remaining.

The Dragons played strong defense all day, holding the Panthers to just 32 percent field goal shooting on the day. TU's offense tailed off considerably in the second half, as the Dragons shot just 23 percent in the final 20 minutes, but TU hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold off ODU.


The Panthers, who trailed 38-17 at the half, managed to hang around and slowly chipped away at the Dragons' lead, managing to cut the deficit to 7 points with 1:17 to play. But the game got no closer as the Dragons buried free throws and eventually posted the 13 points victory.

TU enjoyed a 42-32 edge on the boards. Holly Focke had the best all-around game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Amanda Baute had 10 points and 9 rebounds and Jessica Harris had 6 points with 12 rebounds. Mandy Jaeb added 10 points, Karli Mast had 9 points, and Jennifer Johnston made it five different Dragons with 8 or more points, finishing with 8 points.

TU next travels to Lake Erie College on Feb. 24 for their final regular season road game. Game time is 8 pm.
