ASHLAND, Ohio -Senior Lindsay Heller had 15 digs as the Tiffin University volleyball team (6-21, 5-13 GLIAC) lost 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-19) to Ashland (12-12, 10-7 GLIAC), Friday night at Kates Gymnasium.

In the first set, the teams went back and forth early. A service error cut the Ashland lead to 7-6. The Eagles pulled ahead to a 13-9 lead. AU then went on a 6-1 run to put the set out of reach.

In the second set, Ashland took the early 10-9 lead. The Eagles put up a 6-3 run to seemingly put the set out of reach at 16-12.

Sophomore Danielle McQuade put the hammer down and Tiffin got a block. Just like that, it was 16-14. AU pushed the lead to 20-15 but the Dragons forced two errors to make it 20-17. Ashland scored five straight points to finish it out.

In the third set, once again the two squads battled back and forth early. McQuade crushed the ball off the block to get TU the point. That knotted the score at 10-10.

The Eagles forced two errors to go up 12-10. Tiffin forced an error and sophomore McKenzie Wright found the floor to tie it up at 12-12. AU pushed the lead to 22-18. Freshman Erin Turner got the kill to close it to 22-19. Ashland scored the last three points to take the match.

For Tiffin, McQuade led the attack with 11 kills, her 11^th straight double-digit kill match. Heller's 15 digs, gives her 1588 in her career, eighth all-time.

For Ashland, Kathy Fletcher had 12 kills and Crystal Elliott had 10 digs.

Tiffin closes the 2011 season on the road, Saturday, Nov. 5, against Lake Erie. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. Live Stats are available at http://livestats.prestosports.com/lakeerie/
