Tiffin University's 2011 season came to a close on Senior Day, as the Dragons fell 42-0 to Hillsdale. The Dragons finish 0-11, 0-10 in the GLIAC, while Hillsdale improves to 8-3, 8-2 in the South Division.
Turnovers and sacks sank TU, as the Dragons committed 4 turnovers and allowed 5 sacks on quarterback James Capello. Three of the turnovers came in the first half as the Chargers jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter edge and took a 21-0 lead into halftime.
Hillsdale's Joe Glendening rushed for 188 yards on 32 carries, as TU was outgained on the ground 335 to -14. Capello completed 27 of 38 passes for 213 yards and 2 interceptions, as he was pressured all day in the pocket.
Marcus Beaurem was the top receiver with 45 yards on 7 catches, while also totaling 147 all-purpose yards. He had 102 yards in kick returns.
Obadiah Dykes had 42 yards receiving while Bertram Marks had 38 and James Hall added 32 yards.
Hillsdale executed its offense smoothly, committing just one turnover and racking up 586 yards to Tiffin's 199.
Mike Virgin was the top tackler for the Dragons, making 15 stops. Logan Snell also got in on 10 tackles, while Carlton Watkins and Rafael Cuellar had 8 tackles apiece. Mike Gomez, Phillip Morris, and Theron Carter also registered 7 tackles.
