It was all Grand Valley State on the road, as Tiffin University allowed 21 first quarter points en route to a 70-7 defeat at Lubbers Stadium. TU falls to 0-5, 0-4 in the GLIAC.
Tiffin's lone score came midway through the final quarter, when Obadiah Dykes caught a 19 yard touchdown reception from backup quarterback Dan Pitts. Dykes ended up with 7 catches on the night for 61 yards, while Pitts finished completing 12 of 23 passes for 86 yards with no interceptions.
James Hall also rushed for 75 yards on 11 carries, but overall the Dragons were outrushed 229-92. The Lakers had little trouble moving the ball, outgaining TU 629-218 in total offense, including 400 yards through the air. They also had more than twice as many first downs as the Dragons (32-15).
Defensively Michael Gomez led the Dragons with 9 tackles while Hausaan Burton had 7 tackles. Rafael Cuellar had 6 tackles along with a 35 yard interception return. Phillip Morris added 4 tackles with a sack, while Cortez Fleming also had 4 tackles.
