Lakers post game knocks out Dragons 62-48

Tiffin University (11-8, 6-7 GLIAC) struggled through its game against Lake Superior State (13-5, 10-2), shooting just 35 percent while allowing the Lakers to control the paint, leading to an eventual 62-48 loss.

Things started out ice cold from the field for TU for the second straight game, as they fell behind 10-0 to open the first half. They trailed at the half 25-16, shooting just 28 percent while getting outrebounded 19-14 and outscored in the paint 20-10.


TU, which improved its shooting somewhat in the second half (41 percent) saw its post defense fall apart, as the Lakers shot a blistering 72 percent after halftime, eventually outscoring the Dragons 40-28 in the paint.

All five starters for the Lakers reached double figures, while Karli Mast led TU with 13 points. Amanda Baute added 10 points with 6 rebounds, while Jennifer Johnston also came off the bench for 10 points. TU's leading scorer, Mandy Jaeb, never got on track, finishing with just 4 points. Jessica Harris led the team with 11 rebounds.

The Lakers finished the game shooting 55 percent from the field while TU shot 35 percent. The Lakers also hit 85 percent of their free throws.
