Tiffin University (5-8, 2-6 GLIAC) got a season-best performance from the GLIAC's leading scorer, Mandy Jaeb, in a 70-63 win at Saginaw Valley State. Jaeb scored 35 points in the victory, draining 10 free throws in as many attempts while also picking up 4 assists.
The Dragons trailed after a close first half 30-29 but came out hot to start the second half, pulling out to a 10 point lead. But the Cardinals battled back and took a three point lead with 3:55 to play. The Dragons rallied to close the game, finishing on a 12-2 run over the final 4:00 for the victory.
While the Cardinals outrebounded TU 51-35 and outshot them 39-33 percent, it was the Dragons defense that garnered the win, as they forced 23 SVSU turnovers while committing only 12. They also held a 19-12 advantage at the free throw line.
