Tiffin University (2-2) couldn't keep up shooting from the field, falling behind 24-8 to open the game and eventually losing at Grand Valley State 86-59.
TU trailed by 16 points after the first 10 minutes of play, with rebounding playing a key factor as the Lakers outrebounded TU 24-13 in the first half. TU put together a run near the end of the half that pulled TU to within 42-31 at the half.
The Lakers came out on fire to start the second half, putting together a 16-7 run at the start of the half to pull away for good. TU could not cool off the Lakers shooters, who shot a blistering 70 percent after halftime to outscore TU 44-28 over the final 20 minutes.
Mandy Jaeb led TU with 20 points while Katrina Clark had 12 points and 5 rebounds. Karli Mast also had 8 points. TU was outrebounded 44-21 and outshot 54 percent to 38 percent.
