2020-21:

Nelson-Elias appeared in four games for the Dragons. She averaged 1.3 points, shooting 40.0 percent from the field, and 1.3 rebounds per game. 

Personal:

Alera is from Erie, Pennsylvania, and is majoring in Forensic Psychology. She is the daughter of John and Tabitha Nelson and has three siblings - Amaiya, John Jr., and Tommie.

High School:

At Mercyhurst Prep, Nelson-Elias earned many accolades during her senior season, including:

• Helped her team go undefeated in the region and win the conference
• Helped her team to win the District 10 Championship
• Nominated breakout player of the week with 17 rebounds in one game
• Participated in the AAU Crossover Team, winning multiple tournaments and playing in the Run 4 Roses Tournament in Kentucky
• Special invitation to the Keystone Club Basketball shootout and interviewed as a “Red Carpet Athlete”
