Mark Del Monaco enters his first year as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country in 2025-2026. He previously served as the Head Cross Country / Associate Head Track & Field coach from 2022-2025.

During his time with the Dragons, Del Monaco has coached 36 All Conference honorees, 23 USTFCCCA All Region honorees, 16 NCAA Championship qualifiers, 10 All Americans, 6 conference champions, 2 USTFCCCA National Athletes of the Week, and 1 national champion along with 3 team conference championships. Academically, his student-athletes have also excelled with 58 Academic All Conference honorees, 22 USTFCCCA All Academic honorees, and 1 USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete of the Year.   
 
In 2024-2025 Del Monaco the Dragon men's cross country team finished 4th while the women finished 6th in Hillsdale. Talel Khalfi, Louis Ginane, and Ines Macadam were all named 1st All Conference for their performances at the cross country championships. At the regional championships the men would go on to finish 11th while the women would finish 16th . The men's finish was their 2nd highest finish in program history. Both the men and women had their highest finishes in 13 years at the regional championships. Individually Talel Khalfi and Ines Macadam would qualify individually for the NCAA Championships in Sacramento. Macadam became the first female in program history to qualify for NCAA's in cross country while Khalfi was the first male to do so since James Ngandu. Talel Khalfi would go on to finish 38th in Sacramento to become the 3rd All American in program history. During the indoor season, Khalfi would go on to set indoor school records in the mile (4:03.68) and 3K (8:01). At the G-MAC indoor championships, Khalfi was named G-MAC Athlete of the meet winning 3 events and helping the men to back to back conference titles. For his performance, he was named USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week.  During the outdoor season, Ines Macadam broke her own school record in the 800m three times running 2:07.53 at the Byran Clay Invitational, 2:07.24 at the Azusa Last Chance meet, and finally at the NCAA Championships running 2:06.97. Ramon Rodriguez also broke the 1500m school record twice running 3:46.25 at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet and then two days later he reset the standard running 3:45.12. For their efforts, Macadam and Rodriguez both qualified for the NCAA Championships in Pueblo, Colorado where they were joined by Dalton Gleeson who qualified in the steeplechase at the Azusa Pacific Last Chance Meet. At the G-MAC Championships in Ashland, Rodriguez would go on to win the 5K while finishing runner up in the 1500m. He was joined by Ines Macadam, Dalton Gleeson, and Louis Ginane who all earned All Conference honors. At the NCAA Championships, Macadam would go on to earn All American honors in the 800m finishing 9th while Rodriguez and Gleeson would finish 19th in the 1500m and steeplechase.   

In 2023-2024 Del Monaco led the Dragon men to a 4th place finish at the G-MAC Championships while the women finished 9th in Canton. Nathaniel Ondracek and Charlotte Campbell earned 1st team All Conference honors while Dalton Gleeson earned 2nd team All Conference honors. The men also earned their first regional ranking in 10 years being ranked as high as 7th in the Midwest region. Talel Khalfi earned National Athlete of the Week while running a program best 23:40. During the indoor track & field season the Dragon men set a G-MAC Conference and school record in the distance medley relay running 9:45.65 to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Lewis Cotterill also broke the school record in the 800m running 1:50.15 to qualify for NCAA’s. While on the women’s side Ines Macadam was named Athlete of the Meet scoring 21 points and winning the mile at the G-MAC Championships. Macadam also qualified for the NCAA Championships indoors running 2:08.91 to break the school record in the 800m. Del Monaco also coached Charlotte Campbell to a school record in the 5K where she ran 17:20.33. During the outdoor track season Del Monaco coached Ines Macadam to the national championship in the 800m at the NCAA Championships in Emporia. Macadam became just the 2nd female to win an individual national title in program history. Macadam was also named USTFCCCA National Scholar Athlete of the Year for winning the national championship. Joshua Bishop also qualified for the NCAA Championships running a school record 8:53.13 in the steeplechase. At the G-MAC Championships Dalton Gleeson won the 5,000m to earn all conference where he was joined by Talel Khalfi, Joshua Bishop, Nathaniel Ondracek, Lewis Cotterill, Charlotte Campbell, and Ines Macadam. Khalfi broke the school record in the men’s 1500m en route to finishing 2nd. Charlotte Campbell also broke the school record in the women’s 5K running 17:17.09 at the Tiffin Carnival while Audrey Sanzone set the school record in the steeplechase at the G-MAC Championships running 11:19.18.

In 2022-2023 Del Monaco led the Dragon men to a 5th place finish at the G-MAC Championships while the women finished 10th.  Nathaniel Ondracek earned 1st team All-Conference honors while Dalton Gleeson earned 2nd team All-Conference honors.  During the indoor track & field season Ines Macadam became the first distance female to earn All American honors finishing 8th at the NCAA Championships. Nathaniel Ondracek also earned All-Conference honors finishing 3rd in the 800m. During the outdoor track season he helped coach Joshua Bishop to a school record in the men’s steeplechase where he represented the Dragons at the NCAA Championships. Additionally, Nathaniel Ondracek broke the 1500m school record at the Azusa Pacific Franson Last Chance.  

Del Monaco served as the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field at Minot State University from 2018-2022. 

In 2019-2020 Del Monaco led the Minot State women's cross-country team to a historic season with the program's first-ever Top 10 Regional Ranking (7th) and highest program finish at the NSIC Championships (4th). The women's cross country program jumped 21 spots and was the most improved team in Division II for 2019. The men also had their highest program finish in cross country at the NSIC Championships and NCAA Central Region Championships. During his time with the Beavers, he led the program to 1 All American finish, 2 NCAA Championship appearances, 12 NCAA provisional qualifying performances, 17 All Conference honorees along with 85 D2 era school records, and 540 D2 era top 10 marks. Academically the program had 19 USTFCCCA All Academic honorees, 34 NSIC All Academic Team of Excellence honorees, 92 NSIC All Academic honor roll honorees, along with 3 NSIC Elite 18 Academic Award winners. 
Del Monaco came to Minot State from Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California, where he as the assistant coach since the fall of 2016. He also was an assistant coach at Metropolitan State in Denver, Colorado, for three seasons.

During his stints at Cal State East Bay and Metro State, Del Monaco coached 12 All-Americans, 23 all-region honorees and had 25 student-athletes named all-conference. He led the women's program at Metro State to an 8th place finish at the 2013 NCAA  Cross Country Championships.

During his year at Cal State East Bay, Del Monaco assisted in coaching an NCAA provisional qualifier and a USTFCCCA all-region honoree. His coaching led to the first male all-conference cross country honoree in school history and he also helped coach the Pioneers to their highest finish at the conference outdoor track championships in school history.
In addition to outstanding success on the track, Del Monaco has seen his teams earn team all-academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in each of the past three years.
Del Monaco competed collegiately at La Salle University where he was a member of the cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Post collegiately Del Monaco continued to train representing Puma and the Boulder Track Club. He qualified for 6 USA Road Championships with his highest finish coming at the 2011 USA 20K Championships.

Del Monaco earned his degree from La Salle in 2011 in information technology with a minor in history.
