ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Tiffin University men's golf team finished in 16th place in its first event of the 2026-27 season, the Midwest/Central Regional Preview held at Grand Valley State's The Meadows Golf Course. The Dragons posted a 54-hole team score of 909 (+57), recording rounds of 314, 294 and 301 while battling rainy conditions during Tuesday's final round.
Tiffin showed significant improvement after the opening round, shaving 20 strokes off its score in round two before closing out the tournament with a 301. Host Grand Valley State fired the low round of the final day with an even-par 284 to claim the team title.

Daniel Aitken and junior
Max Vanoy each moved up four spots in the final standings after closing with rounds of 74 (+3) and 75 (+4), respectively. Aitken finished tied for 26th overall, while Vanoy tied for 34th.
Grant Woodruff recorded a pair of birdies on his front nine during Tuesday's final round, helping him finish the tournament tied for 101st overall.
Joshua Swartz also turned in a strong final round, carding a 76 (+5).
Winston Brown closed out the event with a 77 (+6), highlighted by a birdie on the 526-yard, par-5 fourth hole, the same hole Swartz birdied during the round. Brown finished the tournament at +20 with rounds of 84, 72 and 77.
Up next, Dragons will next play on September 28th and 29th at the Midwest Collegiate. The tournament will take place at the Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
