Strong first half powers Dragons over Point Park 15-10

Tiffin University women's lacrosse (3-4) rode a powerful offensive first half to defeat Point Park 15-10 on Saturday afternoon at Heidelberg's Hoernemann Stadium. 

The Dragons scored six of the first seven goals and led 11-3 at halftime. Lauren Walsh started the scoring with an unassisted goal 49 seconds into the game and leading 2-1, Tiffin took control scoring the next four in a row and overall seven of the next eight.  

The Dragons seemed to be in control but a strong third quarter by the Pioneers made the game interesting going into the fourth. The Pioneers scored five unanswered and Tiffin led 12-8 after three. Graham and Ashley Spangler scored in the fourth to make it 14-8 while the defense sealed the deal holding Point Park scoreless for the first 11 minutes of the fourth. Isabelle Vranjes put the stamp on this one with adding a goal with 35 seconds left. 

It was a very physical game that featured 27 combined cards and the Dragons scored eight a woman up.  

Sarah Hart got the win in goal making seven saves in 60 minutes.  

Walsh and Vranjes led the offense scoring three goals each, and Walsh was responsible for all six Tiffin assists in the game. Kenna Wigginton, Spangler, and Graham each scored two while Rykard, Dana Shehadeh, and Guinevere Salas each scored one.  

Both teams recorded 29 shots and 16 shots on goal. The Dragons won the ground ball battle 27-24 and dominated on draw controls, winning 19 of 26, and the teams combined for 56 turnovers. 

Rykard led the team in ground balls with six and both Walsh and Rykard had three caused turnovers.
