Tiffin had five champions at the G-MAC Championships.

Dragons post five champions at G-MAC Championships

Tiffin University boasted five champions at the G-MAC Championships, finishing second overall out of seven teams.

Ashland won the overall title with 161 points while Tiffin finished with 149. Findlay was third with 140 points.

Tiffin won individual titles at 125, 157, 165, 174, and 184 pounds. Overall the Dragons had 16 total placers, while 174-pound champion Emilio Arellano was named Wrestler of the Meet.

Winning the first title of the day for Tiffin was Anthony Aniciete at 125 pounds. He beat Thomas More 18-3, Ashland 10-2, and Findlay 4-2.

Casey Barnett (157) also finished first, posting wins over Thomas More by fall in 1:38, Ashland by pin in 2:09, and Lake Erie by fall in 1:57.

Nolan Gessler (165) followed with another title, getting wins over Ashland 15-0, Thomas More 17-0, and Ashland 7-3 for the title.

Emilio Arellano (174) also got three wins for a championship, defeating Ashland 21-3, Findlay 20-3, and Ashland by a slim 2-1 margin.

David Davis (184) won the last title for TU, defeating Davenport 16-11, Ashland 4-1, and Lake Erie 11-1.

Taking second was Cael Woods (133) with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan by fall in 4:22 and Lake Erie by pin in 1:08. He lost in the title bout to Findlay by a slim 3-2 score.

Max Millin (197) also took second. He beat Lake Erie 5-0 and Findlay 11-3 before falling to Ashland 4-2 in the championship.

Tiffin's Jake Powell (285) also finished second. He beat Kentucky Wesleyan by pin in 4:58 and Lake Erie 4-2. He lost in the title bout by injury to Ashland.

Bret Minnick (141) posted a fourth place finish. He had wins over Ashland 2-1 and Thomas More 19-4.

Placing fifth was Zavian LaFountain (125) with a win over Lake Erie 5-3, and Dean Hetrick (197) with wins over Findlay by fall in 2:19, Thomas More 5-3, Thomas More by pin in 1:34, and Lake Erie 2-0.

Finally, Antonio Hobbs (149), Lane Thacker (157), Thaddeus Stuckey (165), Isaac Lacinski (174), and Richard Thornton (285) all finished 6th. Hobbs had a win by injury over Thomas More, Thacker had wins over Kentucky Wesleyan 16-0 and Thomas More 7-5, Stuckey won by forfeit over Kentucky Wesleyan and by injury over Lake Erie, Lacinski got wins over Ashland 7-4 and Kentucky Wesleyan by fall in 1:39, and Thornton got a win over Thomas More 13-5.
