Tiffin University men's basketball (7-20, 5-14 G-MAC) erased a 17-point halftime deficit and with the game tied at 55 with 3.6 seconds remaining, Walsh's Kobe Mitchell gave the Cavaliers the lead at the free throw line following a foul by Dekyre Fuller and the Cavaliers won the game 57-55.
Walsh led the entire first half and led 34-17 at halftime as the Dragons shot just 29 percent from the floor while the Cavaliers shot 49 percent in the opening period.
The Dragons came roaring back in the second half and an 11-0 run cut the deficit to one with 12:29 remaining following a layup by KJ Pruitt. The Dragons had a chance to take the lead as Allen Fordham stole the ball away but missed a three and Walsh corralled the defensive rebound and made a three on the next possession to make it 43-39.
An 8-0 run capped by a Michael Lucarotti layup gave the Dragons their first lead of the night, 47-45, with 8:40 remaining. A three by Pruitt gave the Dragons a four-point lead with 7:27 remaining and Walsh responded with a 7-0 run to reclaim the lead and the Dragons would not lead again.
A jumper by Fordham tied the game at 55 and the game remained tied until Fuller was called for a foul 3.6 seconds remaining that lead to Walsh's game-winning free throws.
Fordham's prayer from half court as time expired was off the mark.
Fuller led the team in points (20) and assists (2). Pruitt added 11 points and four rebounds while John Muhammad finished with eight points and five rebounds. Fordham also finished with eight points and Lucarotti grabbed four rebounds.
