Tiffin University (13-2-5) battled through two overtimes but could not pull out the victory, falling 4-3 in penalty kicks at Lincoln (Mo.) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The two teams matched each other step for step through 110 minutes, with the Dragons getting on the board first in the 52nd minute when
Anelson Azard scored on a pass from
Sebastian Alvarez Cano.
Lincoln answered quickly, getting a goal in the 63rd minute from Hadri Lopez off a pass from Joseph Lozano.
Tiffin got two shots on goal over the final 25:00 including a shot by Azard with 24 seconds left by goalkeeper Vincent Osei made the save to send the game to overtime.
Tiffin put three more shots on goal in the two overtime periods, with Osei making the save on all of them to send the game into penalty kicks.

Nick Cherry each opened with saves but Osei got another save in the third round of shots and the Dragons could not make up the difference.
Overall Tiffin was outshot 13-11 with TU outshooting Lincoln in the overtime periods 5-3. Lincoln also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
